House of Avatars is a 3D chat application that allows users to interact with each other in a virtual environment via pre-made 3D avatars. It aims to foster a community of seekers, learners, and thinkers who want to explore the meaning of existence in a fun and engaging way. It's an homage to a certain project in the past that had a satisfying resurrection. We've had the opportunity to make it come to pass, and here we are.
Once you create an account or enter with a guest account and choose your preferred avatar, you enter the Chapel and can navigate using mouse clicks. You can also tap the Tab Key to use the Keyboard and 'WASD' keys to walk around. You can click on pews, chairs or candles. You can send messages to users in a room or speak with them one-on-one with whispers.
You can communicate with other users by typing messages in the chat box at the bottom of the screen. You can see the messages of other users in the same room as you, as well as their avatars and names. You can also send private messages to other users by clicking on Whisper above the chat box and start typing the name of the person you want to have a private chat with.
